What Credits are Available for Military Rank?
Currently, UMGC is offering a selection of undergraduate business courses for military rank, as follows:
Military rank E5 — Earn up to 3 credits at UMGC:
- BMGT 160
Military rank E6 or above — Earn up to 6 credits at UMGC:
- BMGT 160
- BMGT 365
Military rank E8 or above — Earn up to 12 credits at UMGC:
- BMGT 160
- BMGT 365
- BMGT 484
- HRMN 300
As a student, we recommend that you do not enroll in courses you may qualify for until your Academic Advisement Report/Degree Plan is complete.Â

To be eligible for this opportunity, you must
- Be a degree-seeking undergraduate student at UMGC
- Have a military rank of E5 or above
- Be an enlisted servicemember or veteran (with less than 10 years since separating from the military)
UMGC students from the military community who meet the eligibility requirements for this program may potentially receive up to 12 credits equivalent to the following business, management, and leadership courses that can be applied toward any undergraduate degree or certificate program:
- BMGT 160
- BMGT 365
- BMGT 484
- HRMN 300
You must complete an attestation form that will be provided to you (if eligible) in your UMGC student portal.
You must also submit your JST or CCAF military transcript to qualify for military transfer credit review.
By earning credit for your military rank and service, you can complete your degree faster and for less money.
