In an effort to provide a sensitive and proactive organization, UMGC has established the Fair Practices Unit. This unit is responsible for receiving discrimination complaints and for the timely processing and resolution of such complaints.

The Fair Practices Officer is responsible for UMGC's global oversight of and inquiries into potential discrimination, harassment, and other forms of unlawful discrimination. This includes responsibility for Federal and state regulatory and statutory compliance efforts. To report claims of harassment or unlawful discrimination, request mediation or confidential discussion, please contact聽the Fair Practices Officer via email at聽fairpractices@umgc.edu.

Religious Reasonable Accommodation Requests

The law requires UMGC to reasonably accommodate a student or an employee's religious beliefs or practices, unless doing so would cause more than a minimal burden on UMGC鈥檚 ability the operations of the employer's business. This means UMGC may be required to make reasonable adjustments to the classroom requirements or attendance and work environment that will allow a student and/or employee to practice his or her religion.

In keeping with the Federal and State laws as well as 麻豆性爱电影 System of Maryland requirements, the Fair Practices Unit manages the requests for religious accommodations for UMGC employees.听To make a request, please submit the Religious Accommodation Request form to the Fair Practices Officer.

In compliance with UMGC Policy 051.00 Religious Observances, students who wish to request an academic exemption or reasonable accommodation should contact their instructor directly.
